Drs. Reb Close and Casey Grover will provide an evidence-based course on pain management and opioid prescribing in dental practice. Topics will include the responsibilities and requirements for opioid prescribing, best practices for pain management, identification and management of patients with opioid use disorder, and best practices for educating patients on safe pain management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants will learn:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Best practices for safe pain management and the legal requirements for opioid prescribing<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. How to use multi-modal analgesia to reduce or eliminate the need for opioids<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. How to identify patients at risk for opioid addiction, and how to manage patients with opioid addiction<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Current trends in substance use that may be seen in dental practice<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
